Front yard slope and island bed. Plus Veronica 'Eveline' paired with Lady's Mantle. Also gaillardia that I started from seed last year, and I'm thrilled that they returned.

Finally a successful Asclepias. Year 2 plant!! I think the reason that these are not common in Pacific NW (well, at least not in Willamette Valley gardens), is that they are BY FAR, a slug's favorite food. I have started many from seed x 2 years. I plant them out when they are large. But by the morning, they have been eaten to nothing. And although we do not have Monarch butterflies in the Pacific NW (Milkweeds, asclepias are their sole food source I believe), they attract many butterflies.

Unlike perennial candytuft that blooms in the spring, annual candytuft blooms now. Prolific and easy self sower.

yarrow, yarrow, yarrow, yarrow, yarrow. Larkspur, larkspur, larkspur. Hollyhock, hollyhock, hollyhock. Linaria, linaria, linaria, linaria, linaria. Plants that self sow a little too overzealously, but I absolutely LOVE THEM. I was thrilled that this dark purple Linaria sport showed up this year…..the rest of them are pale pink. So exciting.

Great photos, I'm poaching ideas from you right and left! I'd forgotten about annual candytuft and was just looking at yarding out a perennial form that is not doing so well for whatever reason. That may well be a good trade-off. Beautiful pics - when you get a chance post some of those (or all of them) as multi-plant photos. I really like researching a potential plant and seeing how others have used it in their landscape.

So beautiful. Love the front of the house. I just pulled some perennial geranium and put free at the top of the driveway. Maybe better go see if it is still there. Beautiful.

You guys have gorgeous gardens!

I need some name for my yard other than "garden".

"Some living plants, not all of which are weeds."

This year, the only thing other than weeds are:
- a huge Knockout Rose
- two lilies that just appeared when I lightened the soil
- lavatera that volunteered after I moved their parents multiple times.
- Sweet William
- Rhodies and azaleas

However, I'm so far behind on the Jurassic Weeds that I'm finding some of them have quite elegant little flowers!

Even veggies ... I never did plant ANY this spring (hangs head in shame). Hopefully fall snap peas, snow peas, Brassicas and lettuce.

Sorry you never got your veggies in! I went to a lecture about veggies this spring and July is the month that carrots and beets are to be planted around here. Her name was Lisa Taylor from Seattle Tilth, her book is Your Farm in the City.
Here are some things from my yard.
