I was just wondering if we could start a discussion about what does really well in your garden.

For me this year it would be HOLD YOUR HORSES, STARMAN' S QUEST and BALI WATERCOLORS
just to name the top 3 that comes to mind.

Other that have increased well and are good would be CAUGHT RED HANDED, VICTORIAN LACE
and ROAD TO SAMARKAND.

Top 3 diploids would be Picket Fences, Big Smile and Navajo Princess

Top 3 tets would be Primal Scream, Old King Cole and Spacecoast Starburst

Its hard to just pick 3 because they are others that do well too.

This is good I will look up some of the ones I haven't heard of before. I hope everyone had a good Holiday. Just back in from the

local firework show. Nice day to spend grilling with the kids too. The humidity was down and it was so nice for the 4th.

My best performer in the bud count area was my own 2014 registration, Sangria With Mia. I registered it based on last year's average of 19 buds per scape. But in a year when bud counts were down throughout my garden, it showed that it could do a lot better. The best scapes have 33 and 35 buds, and the others ranged from 23-28. It still has a lot of buds left to bloom.

Debra, I am sure you are so proud of Sangria With Mia! It is so pretty, do you know the parentage of it? Yes, Edge of Your Seat has also done very well here.

Ruby Lipstick is very eyecatching too. I have a new pink one that I think may do well. Sweet Child of Mine is a nice pink. Hopefully, I can get a nice picture of it today. I was hoping for a rose pink but mine seems to be more the Webster's Pink Wonder shade like one of its parents.

I wish you were closer we would take another road trip to see some gardens.

Debra - Your "Sangria With Mia" is stunning! And the bud count is awesome! Congrats! I also love "Pretty Desirable". That one is just beautiful! Caught my eye as I was scrolling down your photo list of daylily blooms! Lovey dubby

Teresa - The parents of Sangria with Mia are Black Plush and Starman's Quest. It's a robust plant with tall foliage and a 6.5 inch bloom on 46-48 inch scapes. I originally grew it in part shade, and it had 13 buds per scape there. I moved it to full sun three years ago, and the bud counts just kept getting better and bettter. I've had Sweet Child of Mine for several years. It is seldom rose pink for me unless it's very hot. I would call it more of a rose lavender here.

Becky - I got Pretty Desirable as a bonus a couple of years ago and was surprised at what a great performer it is.

Debra, I still grow both of those. Good choices.

Pretty Desirable is just that! I am going to tour the Western KY Botanical Garden this morning. After twisting my husband's arm lol.

It is small but improving every year. He is going for home improvement items at Lowe's.

Silky Twilight put on a long running show.

But my "old" daylilies purchased in the early 90's mostly from a local farm that is no longer operating were the most impressive after finally given some attention.

This one that I have no idea what the name is now is finally wrapping up the show after months of steady blooming and setting pods.
