I'm thinking of getting these 3 to go by my Hydrangea 'Vanilla Strawberry' hedge. Will these grow well in Zone 7? Can you recommend some other Daylilies with huge flowers? Thanks. I'm looking for White and Pink, but other colors would also be good to hear about.

You asked a lot of us if not most of us have/still use The Lily Auction http://www.daylily.com/cgi-bin...

You will likely find the daylilies you are looking for if not now keep checking someone will list them. I know I have seen those three on the LA. Be aware there is a lot of temptation on the lily auction.

Brent Ross of cottage gardens has all three north wind dancer for $25 and heavenly angel ice for $25 and websters pink wonder $20.

Wow. Those are all nice. I have one called 'Primal Scream' which made me appreciate the different bloom forms.

You could always try scouting these out on the Lily Auction. All three of these should be sold by various sellers on the LA, especially later in summer when more people will be dividing their existing clumps and selling extra divisions. You could also search through general price lists found on the webpages of several well-known hybridizers and/or sellers. Worst that could happen is that you would have to order from more than one source to find what you are looking for.

Also, not sure if you are aware of this, but NORTH WIND DANCER is more on the lavender-pink spectrum rather than being a true pink. Regardless, it is a gorgeous flower!

It appears that you are drawn to the spiders and UFs (unusual forms) just like I am. Search for Woodhenge Gardens and Judy Davisson to see some truly state of the art flowers in these categories!

You could also do an advanced search on the AHS site. I just did one for bloom size between 10-15" and scape height 30-60" and got 409 daylilies! Unfortunately, I didn't see an option to choose a color. And of course, there are probably a lot of those that can't be found to purchase, but it really opens up your search options and many have pictures.

Looked at pictures of the hydrangea "Vanilla Strawberry" and WOW! That's a beauty of a shrub! You live in a great zone for daylilies Smiling

Just throwing this one out there. Ruby Spider probably won't go with the colors in your hydrangea, but it does have a large bloom.

I just purchased Give Me Eight (a white poly) so I don't know how it performs, but it is an 8" bloom on a 48" scape. There are several good pictures in the database. Mine hasn't had a good bloom since I just got it.

Webster's Pink Wonder is large, but was a bit of a flopper for me... Meaning the scapes did not stand upright. I replaced it with Loud Girls, which has Webster's Pink Wonder as a parent. So far, Loud Girls has been a real stand out, and it stands up.

This flower may not measure as large but it has a big presence. World's Collide is a nice raspberry rose with strawberry pink watermark on big, flat flowers.

If you like really huge blooms, I recommend either of these really unique daylilies -- AMETHYST PRISM is the taller one with the slightly larger bloom, and AZURE PRISM is the shorter one and is a little more purple. They are absolutely spectacular blooms (like 9") and are total eye catchers. But the down side is that they are both new 2014 introductions from Floyd Cove and their parentage involves tetraploid conversions including TET TIME STOPPER, so of course they are very expensive. But IMHO there is nothing else like them!

Thumb of 2014-07-11/Betja/403fec

If you're interested in checking them out, here is the Floyd Cove website address. Just look for the 2014 Prism Collection on the left side of the page. And also, there are a few pictures of each of them in our database here.
