Lady Margaret graced me with a bloom this morning along with a Tri-Color - P. trifasciata which always seems to come in pairs.

I'm jealous! Both my Lady Margaret vines died on me over the winter. Such a lovely passie and Margaret was my mother's name. Oh well, there's always next year!

Everything is blooming about a month late this year ... I don't understand why.

Thanks ... I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the P. x allardii blooms this year. Grew it from seed about 4 years ago and it has never bloomed ... maybe this year!

Anne, do you fertilize your passies? Lady Margaret gave me one bloom about 2 months ago and that has been the only bloom. Now all my others have been blooming all summer long day after day.

P. aurantia took a vacation last year but is making up for it this year! The flowers start out a cream color and morphs into a deep red over a few days.

I've had this plant for going on 4 years now and it bloomed every year up until last year. That actually has happened before with my Passiflora foetida var. gossypifolia. It didn't bloom one year.

My passi, has really been putting on a show this summer. It is huge and full of blooms. This is my first year for a Tropical Passi so I am wondering how I will over winter it. Usually the end of Aug I start thinking of that in early spring I just think how lovely it would look in my garden. I could cut it back and tuck it into either the GH or the house but last year thing were pretty full around here. I was wondering can you let them go semi dormant?

Yes. The ones I have in pots, I cut back and keep in my heated greenhouse which is set to upper 30's/low 40's at night. They do just fine and actually put on new growth and bloom even with a soil temperature in the mid 40's.
