Believe it or not, I took a lot of dang pictures trying to get that entire plant in view, but not the trashcans and the cars and the street and the dead grass and the other garden and the neighbor's house etc., --I'm sure you get the picture --without the kind of weird, long, severe crop that just left a river of red over the aster blob and a couple of rocks. I tried again today, and finally settled on this one. I'm glad you like it! (I can still see my car and the hand truck and a very crispy clematis )

@dave, thanks for the kind words. Mercifully (for everyone), I don't post 'em all... I have to admit that my standards have changed a little...ever since I saw one of my photos come up (from ATP) on a google image search I've worked really hard this year to improve my eye and skill with the camera.

This may not be the right venue for this, but...thank you for this site. It is so well organized and easy to use and the community of people who have gathered here is a credit to you and your vision. I'm thrilled to have found ATP and to be able to contribute as I can - and enjoy the contributions of fellow site members. In a word, THANKS.
