I have had this plant for years. I forget it because it sits in a corner of the family room and it does not get water. It has gone without water last year for 8 months because I forgot to take it outside for the summer.

It really is purple not a dark green. Strange plant. I do not remember where I got it or how I ended up owning it. It could be a plant I picked up during my travel. I was good for picking up plants on the ground or in trash when I stayed at hotels and they threw away the plants.

Yet it keeps trying to survive. Rolling on the floor laughing

I would think it's a type of Aloe but that's all the help I can offer.

Hybrid Aloe, I think it is Lizzard Lips. If not it may be a close family member. Saw some on Ebay. Just babies and not as well grown. There are so many hybrid now, myself I have a tray of 17 seedlings. Many sellers of seeds so I think they may have no names.

Stush,
I have 'Lizard Lips,' this one doesn't look like it.

I think it's some form of Gasteraloe. I can see the Gasteria in it, but it also has the look of an Aloe.

Planto,
It is most differently a hybrid Aloe. But mixed with what? Very well could be and properly is a Gasteria. Most Gasteria is on the small side. Aloe genes give it some size. All Aloe, Gasteria and Haworthia are all in the same subfamily Asphodeloideae and can interbreed. I don't know how they name them. Maybe the pod parent taking the credit. Pollen parent not mentioned. Just my best guess.
Oh and can we see a picture? I just bought one at Wal-Marts for $4 called Aloe 'Pink'. Looks like Aloe 'Christmass Tree'. And it has many many babies. Sorry I didn't didn't follow my own advise and show a picture of it. Soon if any body wants it.

Stush,
That's the mystery in hybrids lol. Some of them are crosses of hybrids, so that makes it even more difficult to distinguish, considering you have mutiple parents. It also doesn't help that some look very alike!

I'd like to see a picture of your Aloe. I always like seeing pictures of your plants.

Here's my 'Lizard Lips,' I bought it at Home Depot a while back. It's in bloom right now, but I don't have a current picture.

Here's one from Cinta, "Partridge breast aloe".

Thumb of 2014-08-01/Stush2019/ce609d

Here's my seedlings. about 9 months old. Some look like Cinta's. The one in the sq. pot is a Haworthia given to me.

And I saw some like yours on Ebay called 'White'. The one called 'Lizard Lips' was long and skinnie. I'll have to look over again. And who's to say they are right. I think with hybrid seeds, you get to make up your own names. At least it seems like it.

Stush,
I saw one that you just purchased at HD also, but it was beat up pretty bad. :/

Those are some cute seedlings!

I tried looking up Aloe 'White' and all I found on ebay was Aloe 'White Fox.' Is that the one?

Planto,
Can't be sure. Brain not as good as it used to be. Could be. I was going to go thru it again and see and copy pictures. Got tied up with life.
Those seedlings are supposed to be Hybrid but not telling with what. The new Aloe poly seeds I purchased is also hybrid but since Aloe poly is sterile, it needs a pollen parent to get fertile seed. These look interesting. Nice if it holds on to it's spiraling and hardiness.
If interested in any, leave you name on the posting 'I'm so in Trouble Now'.

Stush,
That's okay, too many names that sound similar. I don't know how others keep up either!

Thanks for the offer, but I will allow someone else to have one. I ended up taking all of my cacti and succulents to my Mother's due to my lack of trust in our apartment folks not destroying them (again).

Because the leaves are so thin and stiff I started looking in another direction. I wonder if it is a Dyckia. The leaves do have the feel of this brom

Remember this from last year. What a difference. I did not forget it last year and watered it and put it outside last summer. I still did not water it at all from Oct until I put it outside this month.

The plant is probably trying to make a lot of babes because he remembers when I tried to kill it last year when it was lost in the corner of my family room for 8 months with no light or water. Hilarious!

Yes Gigi that chrome is making a lot of babies too. I do not know what I used in that pot that is making them so happy and wanting to make so many babies. I still did not water any of my succulents last winter.

I know what I will be offering in the free succulent /cactus offer this year. *Blush*
