Please help id. She smells divine! The petals are narrow. We are calling this, plumeria'Auntie Chris'. After all this time, the bloom has been identified as the gifted tree from a dear, dear friend of ours almost 30 years ago. Auntie Chris has since passed on. I like to think she has finally, finally settled in her own world and finally had time to help me make it bloom. Auntie Chris was a restless nomad like that!

Thanks for asking Gigi.. The tree continued to put out flowers but one at a time and not in a bouquet. This is the 6th flower.



The next inflo on another branch looks like it might bloom tomorrow or the next day. And IM ight get two at the same time!



The other sister tree is doing some odd branching. IDK what that is in the center??

That is known as 'nubbing', and it happens most often in seedlings in their first year. They will have this 'false inflo'; no blooms but the upside is that you will usually get the branching.

That is Exciting CheryI! It will start with one or 2 and before you know it, you will hopefully have a bouquet.

I got a lot of false inflo this season and a lot of branching but not a lot of blooms...so I have mixed feelings with my plummies right now. I did not fertilize this year but I definitely would next year.

I hope go see other varieties bloom but no signs of inflo as of today.

I've just heard that Florida Colors, my go-to Plumeria nursery, will be selling their own specially mixed brand of plumeria fertilizer come spring

Cheryl, that's exciting! I have to say, I haven't had one bloom this summer, so far. I had a lot of things going on and maybe i should have bumped some of them up to larger pots. The ones in the ground have gotten tall, but I think the oak trees sap all their ferts away. No blooms... It's just been too hot! Love seeing other posters' blooms!

We're having a heat wave. 107º heat index with some sticky wet humidity! The Plumies ought to be loving it! The other two flowers half way opened today. I think I will get some Lookers by tomorrow.

Yeah that false inflo nub was the one I have been eying for a long time hoping it was more inflo. It took a month before I could tell it wasn't going to do anything but be a nub! Will it just stay being a nub? or will something spring out of it and surprise me? Odd looking thing! The branch that it is on is one of two other small conjoined trees. The big flowering tree shades over it quite a bit. I turn the tree a lot hoping some sun will get to it. Seeing how the conjoined sisters are on opposite sides of the big tree, that is a lot of spinning around!

@Bubbles. I have been fertilizing regularly, every week-10 days, something that has gotten by me in previous years. I think that has made all the difference to the point I think it might help them bloom better next year?

I'm sure you're right about the ferts. I just had some other issues that took me away from the plants the last two months. I hope to get things back on track now that DH is better and I've cut back on some social obligations.

Wow! When it rains it pours. No blooms for 20 years now she is pregnant and you'll have several grandkids! I think she likes all these pictorial attention and is showing off.

After all these years IDK what to think about all this "activity" this tree Plumeria/"Auntie Chris" is giving me. Found another seed pod on another branch of this tree today. I am excited and I don't even know what to do with them when they arrive! :rofl:



The first seed pod is getting fatter and longer!
