Thread OP

Is there a difference between a white Henryi cultivar....and the bulbs sold as Lady Ann or Lady Alice? If so, what are the differences? Are these fertile cultivars...pod or pollen?

Regarding white Henryi and Lady Alice - the difference to the eye seems negligible, I think each was registered separately. There's probably a why to check their heritage @pardalinum may be able to help on that subject. I had Lady Alice for years, it was one of my favorites. Lady Ann, I don't know of, Lady Anne I do know of, the latter is an orangey/yellow trumpet lily bred (I think) by Lisa Hunt (aka Buggy Crazy).
Nothing that's been done can ever be changed.

Lady Alice: http://lr.gerrydanen.com/regis...

Lady Anne: http://lr.gerrydanen.com/regis...

Photos that I see of Lady Alice seem to have more and larger papillae than White Henryi. Lady Anne seems different enough being yellow with just the tepal tips recurved and no markings.

After perusing some old NALS seed exchange lists it appears they are generally fertile both ways with trumpet and other aurelian lilies.

The lists are found here with previous years in the lower left corner:

http://www.lilies.org/nals-2/s...

These are pdfs and you can use your pdf "Find" function to search for lily names in the lists and explore how they were used in a cross.

Hope this is of assistance to you.

Lady Alice is what I have. 29 stalks over about six square feet
. They still bloom well and are finishing for the year. I think I should move some though this fall.

I did not breed lady Anne, bought it from somewhere, don't remember where but not B&D. I did have my own white henry strain that I bred, it came true from seed. All lost now.
