I can't seem to be able to find half wire baskets, they are great for fences, keeps them from being so boring, and beside we have to keep looking for places to put that new plant that we just had to have. smile.

Welcome! to ATP, portiabarb!

I was at our local Home Depot the other day and I saw them there. I agree, they are great for adding a bit of interest to a boring chain link fence. Try checking with some of your big box stores. Smiling

Online, "hanging planter" or "hanging basket" seems to always mean ROUND basket.

How about window boxes? This one was on sale but is now out of stock:

I found another hnager, like that but square:
http://www.greenhousemegastore...

The last link "Greenhouse MegaStore) also sells three-arm "hangers" you could use to hang a rectangular planter if you can find one.

Maybe put a grow bag in a hanger?

Or buy a round wire planter and squish it into an oval?

Edited to add:
I kept looking, and Lee Valley Tools lived up to its reputation for having cool things that are a little expensive.

This hangs on a wall or fence, has compartments for multiple plants, and some watering gadget.

Are you looking for the horse trough style? I have 2 types of these - one large (4') and 2 of the small 18" ones. I checked and Home Depot have these (horse trough style) for sale in several different sizes and they will ship free to your home with a $45 minimum order.

Have you tried calling Sperlings in Calabasas (I am assuming that you are in Simi Valley, CA)? They have a huge pot section and, if they don't have them in stock, they may actually order them for you. I don't know if Liz is still working there but she used to be the one in charge of ordering.

Amazon has a couple of wire and wrought iron wall planters that might work for a fence, the first one is very inexpensive:

And, this place lists a few: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001P3SWLA/

More ... wow, they can get quite expensive: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001P3SWLA/

Wayfair has a few wall planters on this page: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001P3SWLA/

I saw a few flat-backed "horse trough" types at Home Depot yesterday. I was tempted, but the available planting space versus cost just didn't balance out for me.
