years ago I had a long handled Smith and Hawken Japanese weeder that looked like this short handle version:

Smith and Hawken is no more....anyone know of a similar long handled weeder?

I own one of these:

The handle is 6 feet long and it works really well. I keep it as sharp as a knife and it works great against small seedling weeds.

Thanks for all the suggestions Thank You!

Sandy - wish that version came with a long handle for standing work - I used to have the long handled version of mine but *someone* left it out in the grass and DH ran over it with the mower deck.... Crying

Karen - I've not seen the circle hoe - looks very interesting and might be a good alternative

Dave - I've been coveting the Dewitt hoe - and several other Dewitt tools - they look like they'd really last

Pm me and I'll make you what you need. When I'm not gardening or working. I blacksmith and bladesmith. Special orders are a lot of fun for me. As long as you don't mind me making one for myself and whoever else wants one. Smiling

Lee Valley have long handled Japanese hoes. I have the long handled San-Kaku hoe, which I'm very careful with because it's so sharp and pointy. Works very well, though.

I really like my long-handled circle hoe, too. There's a link to a quick demo video at the top of this page.

@homeshow Phillip - great minds think alike I guess😀. My husband had a welder friend reproduce the tool I wanted - love it! Thanks for your generous offer.

Sue that LV triangle weeder looks interesting. Mine is like this one but long handled:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0000TX5HQ/

Karen your circle how looks really neat - might have to try that one!
