Most gardeners have at least one or two. I'd love to see yours.

Thanks, Vic. Since they are wood, I didn't want to put them outside so I hung them in a window.

I have others but still can't find the photos of them. Blinking

Pretty Tee and you're like me, they are all just sort of tucked here there and everywhere. I'm up to my ears for a few days but I will get mine posted. I only have 4 - I think Whistling Green Grin!

Tee, I used to have some that were long pipes. I loved them so much!

I'm a fan of windchimes. I have made a few too - will share soon. Some really nice ones you have shared here. But for now, I observed a possible modification to the second picture above [where there is a watering can seen]. I see the threads touching the pipes as it hangs. See my diagram. You need to insert something to keep the threads from touching the pipes - it will vibrate nicely and fully. Try. I'm sure you are not getting the best sound as I perceive from that image. Let me know.

Interesting, Dinu. I will try that. You are right. Those give more of a tinkling sound and not a good vibration. Looking forward to seeing your chimes.

This blogpost is about my fancy for bells - some mention also on windchimes.

http://junkunjunk.blogspot.in/...
This one is in a separate blog of mine - about junk - see title of the blog and also other posts if interested.
See the last picture in this - I have used a piece of cardboard to hold the thread apart so that a proper ting is obtained.
I'm really fond of the chimes.

I have a smaller one in the kitchen and I call it as my head-chime! Since wind does not blow strongly there, this chime does not ting in the wind but I have hung it in such a way that when I walk [tallest at home] in the passage, my head strikes the hung wood pieces that will produce the pleasing vibrations from the 8 tiny tubes in different frequencies. Others will also know that this 'tall cat' is in the kitchen! Smiling

I very much enjoyed the links. I used to have a collection of brass bells from India but I am not sure what happened to them. They may be packed away somewhere. I hope so.
