The seedling beds are beginning to wind down, still a lot blooming but it's not as crazy out there as it was two weeks ago. Now the process of assessing images and deciding which ones get moved to the keeper beds this fall.

Found two cute sculpted forms this past week. Both are around 3 1/2 inches....

And one at the opposite end of the ruler....a 10 inch bloom with a patterned watermark....

Hi Char - Are the sculpted sdlg blooms supposed to be minis or are they ffoe's on short scapes? I've never seen small sculpted blooms before. Smiling

They were suppose to be smalls Smiling The scapes are around 24 -26 inches.... A few years ago I had a Sigourney kid bloom which is on the small side and I purposely crossed it to a few small flowered cultivars, just to see what would happen.Last year I kept several from a first cross and will keep these two from other crosses this year. Sometimes as hybridizers we can get so focused on our main goals, making a few outside the box crosses brings a welcome element of surprise and fun into the seedling bed.

Beautiful.

Fred - Looks like you have another winner! I am still undecided about the spiders, but THAT one I really like! Colors blend together very nicely and I love the curls! Congrats!

Glen - Your avatar is so cool. It took me a few minutes to figure out that it was one of your cats. What a beautiful feline! Lovey dubby

Thank you everyone. This has been a great season in the seedlings so far, a lot of really cool things showing up.... but the crosses don't always work, there are many more failures than successes...

Congrats on another wonderful intro Fred! Beautiful colors and those curls.... Thumbs up
