I have realized that not all daylilies outperform every single year. This is partly due to ( I believe) weather, how hard they "worked" the previous year and a bunch of other factors. Ones I had on this list in 2013 are not necessarily ones on my 2014 list. My top performing daylilies this year are:

Pumpkin Bandit - this yearling in my garden has been blooming since Memorial Day. And it is still going strong. I can't wait until it gets larger and clumps up.

Holly Dancer - a consistent over performer. It makes this list every single year.

God's Gift To Warthogs - it took this plant several years to settle in, and was spectacular this year, and in fact has a half dozen blooms that have opened this morning. Never expected this one to do so well.

Honorable Mentions: Lilting Belle, Buttered Popcorn and Fire King, + a mini flower that I need to figure out its name (squirrels stole the tag)

I will post photos when I get on my desktop later.

Jan, your noid reminds me of Broadway Last Mohican. Whatever it is it makes a gorgeous clump!
With the hard and very long winter we had I wasn't sure what to expect of the daylilies. So many surprised me with their ability to put the nasty weather behind them and bloom like they always have, there were a lot of gorgeous blooms this year. These top 5 (6) are mostly older cultivars in established clumps that have proven themselves year after year and stood out as favorite performers for me in 2014....

Astral Voyager, is one of the best garden plants anyone could ask for. Beautiful foliage, great scape and cool raspberry- lavender blooms day after day....

Hidden Cameras, a patterned daylily with a super plant underneath.

A toss up for small red blooms between Broadway Valentine and Little Bo Peep Diploma, both make spectacular clumps, well branched with perfect blooms day after day.

Noble Lord, an older cultivar (1992) but a favorite of everyone that walks by it. Planted in the corner of the entrance to the garden it is one of the first daylilies they see.

Tuxedo Whiskers, wonderful pattern on a perfectly hardy well branched plant.

Others that come to mind and are great performers year after year....
Magic of Oz
Elegant Candy
Doc Webster
Kansas Kitten
Jerry Hyatt
Man in the Maze
Point of Divergence
Panties in a Knot
Planet Claire
Vanilla Gorilla...I'm certain I could list many, many more!

I agree that your NOID looks like broadway last Mohican.

Some good performers are...
Coyote moon lots of scapes buds and reblooming scapes
Heavenly dragonfire lots of buds
Pink ambrosia 38 buds!
Painted palace 30 buds
Supernatural reblooming great
Stargate portal lots of scapes
Tuscawilla tigress 34 buds
And the prettiest or most unusual Cosmic Kaleidoscope

Just to name a few.

It could be Broadway Last Mohican, if it is, it clumped up in two years and that is what was surprising me. It has been wonderful this year.

Jan, that sure looks like BROADWAY LAST MOHICAN to me, and didn't you purchase the mini collection that year? And I love love love your BUTTERED POPCORN -- so cheerful and bright, and that clump shot is amazing! Is that picture in our database? Sure hope so!

And Char, I love your HIDDEN CAMERAS - I'll have to check into that one myself.

I did purchase that mini collection, and it is in the right location. I have the name tag buried beneath the plant also, just don't want to dig it up to check. I have a single tiny scape left on Little Surfer Girl. and the other one never survived the winter - but this one has been AMAZING - I don't think I have ever had any daylily clump up THAT fast before. Thanks for the ID help. I just haven't dug out my garden maps to verify.

This year for me it was Ranger Bob and Barbara Mitchell. Both gone by now, but were prolific in late July and August. Just looking at all your wonderful photos gives me huge daylily envy, although I do not have much more room for them. I am looking for a couple of whites to add to the colors (Early Snow and Last Snowflake). I have one white, but it is not very prolific.
