We have had some chilly nights. I live in cold country and cannot leave my tender succulents and the cactus out for the winter. They have to come inside. But....most of my tender sucs can survive and do better if I leave them out until the very last minute.

They get to go through their color changes and growth slowdown or the winter growers get their signal it is time to do their thing. It triggers my Jades and Kalanchoes to set bud and flower through the winter.

We have gone down as low as 40 and I have not brought anything indoors except my most tender houseplants but the sucs stay outside until it hits 35 or frost predictions.

So here are some of my fall color. I would like to see your fall colors.

Sure, Sure rub it in. Rolling on the floor laughing We are back up in the temps. Forecast is upper 70s - 80s and 50s night time for the next two weeks. Our temps are always crazy this time of year. We can have summer, Fall and winter all in one day until Nov. or Dec. It is why I do not bring them inside.

If I see it is going to go back up I just run out the back door and cover them with a sheet for the night. It kills the bugs too so I do not bring in anything into the house for them to kill the plants.

Hilarious! I was just looking at my weather station, for awhile it read 91F..so..summer temps, then down to 86F..but humidity is down to 37%, so succulents won't do much color changing yet for sure. I know I see more prominent color changes during late Fall to early winter here. Big Grin What I have are some blooming succulents though which I have been posting on another thread.

LOVE the plants, combos of them, pots, everything!

Hot pink new root and tiny baby plant on this leaf I removed from plant about 2 wks. ago.

This Tradescantia sillamontana has lightened its' leaf color since the sun calmed down, and of course the flower is pink!

My Aeonium arboreum is awake now from its summer slumber, so the transition from its burgundy colored leaves while semi-dormant to greener, more awake leaves, adds a colorful Fall show:

This cutting is showing it is finally awake:

Mother plant is going mixed colorful as it continues to awaken as well:

Yes, they have. We should have had a hard frost by now but haven't. That's good since I need to bring this plant indoors - without any flies. nodding

Today:

Euphorbia tirucalli 'Firesticks' (okay, I'm not sure if this qualifies as "fall colors" or not).

Greg,
Uh oh. Rolling on the floor laughing

I found mine at a local Home Depot, actually. I think it was $4. Super easy to grow. I'd definitely recommend it. nodding
