Just want to share a couple carnivorous plants from my collection. They eat insects, and some are very aggressive.

Needrain: yes, but these plants are quite small, i can put like 30 plants in a single terrarium. Thanks for your kind words :)

Bubble: i tried, but it will be very long if all my plants will have to be reviewed. Can i just add my pictures with the botanical description and a comment ?
Also you are from Texas ? Im a DallasStars fan lost in Montréal haha Smiling Im with the stars since 1998 :)

Dutchlady1: thanks ! Yes my pictures are already in the contest. Im not a pro, so my pictures are very amateur. But the important is the participation :)

Cheers all :)

@Maiden, you can add as many as you like to the database. The "reviewing" is done by members who verify the botanical name of the plant in the photo is correct. If you are comfortable adding your photos with the botanical name to begin with, please do that. You don't have to comment on each one. You can, however, go back to your photos after they are approved and add comments to any that you'd like to.

I have only been to one hockey game. Austin's team was called the Ice Bats (they've changed the name since). I believe the Dallas team is more well known. Now if you want to talk football...!

Its a stylidium caespitosum, a west australian plant. The flowers have some little slingshots, and they whip the buzzing insects with pollen. Pretty stunning. The mecanism is very fast.

Here you can see the mecanism details. Its unique in the botanical world.

Hi Maiden...It's gorgeous! I just searched our Data Base, and it isn't there...I'd like to suggest that you propose an addition of the plant, and post your pictures...Grab those Acorn 's! Big Grin

Welcome to ATP Maiden. Welcome! Welcome! We have Trigger Plants growing around here. After the hammer belts the insect, the hammer gradually pulls back and reloads and belts another one. You can see the hammer here. They are wonderful plants.

The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.

Thank you @maiden. Here is a photo of my pitcher plant I have growing up my palm tree. I have been told it is a cross: Nepenthes maxima x N. alata: but I am unsure.
