Heres the story:

"If ever a plant was adorable, cute, sweet, and lovable,...for me its the 'Mini Pixie' Syngonium podophyllum. I never even knew this little gem existed until I had one of my plant sales three years ago. A lady stopped by who said she was a horticulturist and traveled the world collecting seeds and rare plants. She loved our miniature gardens that day. Two days after the yard sale this lady knocked on my door and presented me with what looked like a 1 inch tall seedling of a regular Syngomium and I was grateful for her kindness yet thought to myself,...
"God thats so weird! If I was going to bring someone a plant of something like a syngonium I would at least bring a larger separation plant from the parent, not a 2 inch specimen with 2 leaves no bigger then a half inch!" (LOL inside to myself)
Thumb of 2014-12-18/DavidofDeLand/24f27a

Anyways I gave her a look of pure appreciation because I did and then she told me about the diminutive little gift.

In her words as close as I can recall:
She says, "Do you know what this is?"
I believe its a baby Syngonium?
"Yes, but not just a regular one. This is a rarer one and the leaves never get any larger then 1 inch. When I was at your plant sale, I loved your miniature gardens and thought this would be a great addition them."
Wow Thank you I said, and was completely skeptical, but if it were true I thought to myself, that would be the coolest little plant ever to me! So I took the tiny little thing and babied it for a year and it developed into about a 3 inch high mound by 3 inches wide that first year in a spacious area, and proved itself to truly be everything this lady had said.
It is a perfect and truly dwarf little plant. whether on a windowsill or in a miniature garden or terrarium, This little 'Mini Pixie' keeps herself in her little space and always is a perky little delight to most who see her who love plants.

Below is a picture of one of my standard Syngoniums. The leaves are almost as big as my hand...

Now, compare the leaves on the mature 'Mini Pixie' in the picture below to the one above.

or in pots. These would look great with mini Begonias, African Violets, Bonsai, Terrariums and on goes the list! I tip my hat to you.

David, I'm interested in getting some if your miniature Syngoniums, but I would prefer if they were shipped when it is warmer. Could I purchase the plants now, and have them shipped later?

Thank you very much for your interest and I will be Tree-mailing you who asked.
I am saving 3 right now for a couple of Members Annette, and no money is needed until its time to ship. We'll pick a tiome when your weather is appropriate. I'll put one aside with Annette on it. Smiling

Holly, The only other miniature plants I have are my small Tillandsias which stand in as great little grass plants, and I collect and cultivate mosses and lichens on old bark which have little spikes with bright orange tops that look like miniature flower beds...

David, I'd probably be interested in those too. I am heading down to Fl. in April and could possibly swing by your place. Will be looking at our route and traveling dates and times. If it suits both of us maybe I could just pic them up, although you could probably ship them earlier than we would be traveling. Can't wait to get that sweet little plant. I just picked up a really cute little terrarium jar that I think may work well.

David, I have been scouring the web trying to learn about cultivating moss. I've tried the beer/moss chunks/sugar in the blender thing and it was totaly ineffective...

nelly5136gmailcom Welcome!

Are you referring to the flowers that David makes from aluminum cans or the miniature syngonium plants? Do you live in the U.S.A.? I'm not sure if he ships internationally but I'm sure he will be along soon to respond to your request. I've ordered one of the metal flowers and two of those mini plants ... I love Davids work!

Hello and Welcome! Nelly!,

I for some reason didn't get alerts to messages in forums I read yesterday and never checked in. I'm sorry to have missed you and I appreciate your interest. Yes, I do still have 'Mini Pixies' and the flowers as Lin told you. (Thanks Lin Smiling )

To order send me a Tree-Mail and let me know what you are interested in first. Next after having your zip code I can weigh your order and calculate shipping. Should we continue, I would then send you a Pay Pal invoice and once paid will ship right out!

Lin brought up a good point;......are you international?
