Looking for red, white & yellow alpine strawberry plants. Will buy or trade something for a start of them. Used to have red & white, they multiply rapidly. Thanks.

I've been looking for them myself, I have the perfect planters made from 5 gl buckets, were each bucket can grow 5 plants. 4 in the vertical position and 1 horizontal.

Each bucket has a 1.5 gl water reservoir in the bottom, but the water is separated by a 10 mm sign material called Coroplast. 1 wick made from polyester brings the water up from the reservoir and waters all the plants.

Also have were I, can Daisy Chain them together and keep the water reservoirs filled 24/7.

Terry, I found today that Burpee company lists them but claims they are out of stock. Seems awful early in the year to me to already be out of stock, season has not got started yet.

Donna, sometimes things are marked out of stock because they haven't received their spring shipment. Usually you can sign up to be notified when they are back in stock.

Well here it is March and they still do not have these strawberries in stock, pooh. Sighing! Looks like it is NOT in the cards for me to get any of these this year. They offered a collection of red, white and yellow also, which was what I wanted as I want all of them, but they seem to have none of them. :0( looks like my Grandbabies will not experience alpine berries this year. Nope, I have never even seen them before! Interesting. I hope they grow well for you.

I know people who have an aversion to eating a "black" tomato so I'm sure there would be people who would feel the same about a black strawberry! Smiling
