Beginning midnight Central Standard time, we will begin to share our favorite Irises whose names begin with *G*. These should be Irises that you already own and have bloomed in your garden. If you're new to Irises it's OK to show an Iris that you own that hasn't bloomed yet, or an Iris that you plan to own. Smiling

I have 5 with G, but they are all new to me.

I am most looking forward to Gypsy Queen as it is by the same hybridizer as my hardy Fabians.

OK -- for my *G* Iris -- I choose Gladiatrix, a Zurbrigg 2003 Iris.

Not only is it wildly colorful, but it's a space-ager. Can you see its horns and flounces? They are not always the same!!

Best wishes for your birthday Brad! Hurray!

I'm looking forward to seeing Gladiatrix bloom. It was one of my 2013 additions and didn't bloom this past spring. Nice pictures showing the beards and horns, Mary Ann.

here's one from 1959 by Marvin Olson. 'Gay Geisha'. I think it's pretty amazing to see how far the breeding has come in my lifetime.

Good morning world. My 'G' iris for today will be...

Gizmo The Gremlin

That was the first bloom in his first year. Not an early bloomer here but certainly a welcome one.

Happy belated Birthday, Brad!!

Brad, hope you had fun on your birthday, did you go diving in Maui? Or just kick back and watch the Hula dancers while sipping on a tall pineapple drink?

For my "G" iris, I'm going with Gypsy Lady. It's a Paul Black, and I really love it.

That is a beauty, Tom. I love the color combination of blue and yellow and any iris with a distinctive contrasting rim around the falls is just gorgeous.

The only G that I'm sure I have is Gypsy Queen, 1859. Not actually one of my favorites, kinda dull in color for me, but a part of Iris history I like to keep around. No info in our data base for her yet, I'll be sure to get pics this spring. Bless her heart- I never take pics of her because she's a bit homely to me....now I feel guilty...LOL

Really like the unique color combo on this one. I saw it in bloom at Winterberry's a couple years ago and had to have it.
