how do you save seeds from strawberries & heirloom tomatoes? i have been very successful with most others i have tried but these two have me looking for help.

As for the strawberries, I've often wondered but never messed with it so I don't know. Maybe someone else will notice this thread and give some input on that.

I've always just used the runners to start new plants. Never tried from seed with strawberries.

how do i get rid of all the runners on my strawberry's. and do i try and find the original plant?

as far as getting rid of runners, strawberry plants only bear fruit for about three years and eventually die out. It is better to train runners to eventually replace the original plant....

You can take the cuttings from the runners for starters just make sure you trim the green foliage away so that it does not take up the valuable nutrients needed for the runner to grow into a healthy plant. Depending on where you are you can do this in the fall or spring.
