I know I've seen several brands listed of an outdoor waterproof adhesive used but can't seem to find it w/o extensive searching thru the threads. Redoing some old birdhouses into Hobbit/Fairy houses and need an adhesive suitable for attaching new materials. Needs to be outdoor type.
Thanks for help !

I "think" the E6000 is good for outdoors but hopefully someone will come along and confirm that.

I would certainly think so. Thumbs up

I've never personally used it outside but many here have. You can always use clear caulk over the glue for added precaution.

Well...my locally available favorite of late has been a locktight product for roof and flashing.. It is a great adhesive...and remains quite flexible ..and obviously an outside product...I have used it on plenty of things...recently on my hiking boots by timberline...many years old the sole was detached from the leather shoe... It has held the two together all winter... And they are water tight...it is black... But cleans up with thinner when it is fresh.. It does take a bit of time to set up.. Perhaps more than a day for full adhesion when the surfaces are air tight...porus surfaces are quicker as air gets down against the adhesive and promotes setting up...
Sounds great... The bird houses look like hobbit houses ..don't they...... OH?..this is available at Home Depot so it is easy to find..

I have never used E6000. I use GE silicone ll clear adhesive window/door/attic/basement. I also want to make hobbit and fairy houses with old bird houses or whatever I can find. Do you have any pictures to share? I have made glass flowers, glass sun catchers, and glass totems using the silicone adhesive. I have left a lot of them outside this winter and so far they are all holding up great in this years Iowa winter.

I've always used E6000. It holds up well in our Florida weather - heat, rain, and sometimes even cold weather.

yes Elfie...the cold is a big problem along with age.. the stiffening of the adheasives is their point of downfall.. many that adhear well.. also stiffen... and the more flexable ones such as many of the silicones which have the best flexability don't adhear particularly well.. over time and changes..
MJ..be sure to show them as they are being worked on and finished...

I seem to recall someone mentioning that the E6000 works well outdoors, unless it is subjected to standing water. Then it will loosen. I know Sharon mentioned that, and I think another member had that experience as well.

None will be in standing water. Most will have some protection from rain as they will be in/on tree's. Still collecting materials. Trying to go thru all my old "stuff" and reuse/repurpose as much as possible.
