Because it is flat and narrow, a palette knife can be a useful tool for seed starting.

I've used a palette knife with my seedlings for a couple of years, it also works well when you're splitting paper towels like @Trish mentioned on the podcast this week. I moved my growing operation outside this winter and I totally left my palette knife inside, so thank you for the reminder Smiling
