So tired of winter.

Which heuchera, heucherella and tiarellas do you have ordered?

I have not ordered any plants at all this year so far. I was thinking I would wait to see what is around after the snow melts. It has to melt some day. Just hoping the losses are not as bad as last year, can't be much worse.

Julia - I have things coming from Mama too - quite a few plants and am excited about them.

Bob - I am afraid to see what kind of casualties I will have. I lost many plants last year that really surprised me as they are plants that are far hardier than my zone. This past February was colder than last winter for us - they said it was the coldest on record and they started to keep records in our area in 1890.

I am anxious to get out in my gardens. I think it is going to be awhile. I noticed that next week we are supposed to have warm up. If it gets rid of the snow, at a minimum, I can get out there and get things cut back.

At least this year the severe cold came after the plants were snow covered. Last year had more snow totals but it came later then normal and the plants had to deal with the worst cold before they were covered. So I am hoping it will not be quite as bad. Even with a full week of warmer weather I do not think it will be able to melt all of this snow. Still has to be 2 feet on the lawn and the gardens have areas by the road and by driveway in the 4 foot deep area.

Wow - you have 4 feet of snow in some areas? We may have 6-8". I am hoping with the warmer week - that ours will be gone.

True - this year, the plants were covered with snow. Time will tell. I am hoping you are right Bob.

I placed an order with In the country Garden and Gifts.
Heucherella Leapfrog, Heuchera 'sugar berry', 'coco' and 'Blondie in Lime'

Thumb of 2015-08-14/springcolor/a50911 4 inch container in picture for scale.
Will you look at the big beautiful plants they sent me. 9.00 each and 10.00 shipping. Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!
I'm not usually impressed with mail order but do order by mail to receive new cultivars. So much better than another site that send plugs for 12.00 or more.

They look very nice , might have to give them a try again. Did they come potted , I kind of remember them sending plants with a plastic bag wrapped around the roots.

I had good luck with planting a few that I picked up on Sale at Santa Rosa last Fall so I order a few again last week that were pretty cheap. These will also go in the pots that I am making hardy plant pottings so I do not have to buy a lot of annuals every year.

-Melting Fires

-Heucherelia Sweet Tea. I had this one when it first came out a very big plant that I paid 28.00 for and it died before summer was over. *Blush*

-Marvelous Marvel

They are smaller than the ones I ordered last year but for the price of 2.99 I am fine with the size.

It is wonderful how large my plants grew in the pots. They tripled in size this summer and they survived the winter.

Bob,
Bluestone, Romence Gardens, and Santa Rosa
I really like the plant, the blooms are secondary for me.
Leaf colors and textures are fantastic.
