Thread OP

Can anyone help me identify this hibiscus? It's listed as a "Fiery Furnace" but any that I've seen are shades of orange.

Looking at how blue the background is, this has been photo shopped a lot (just my opinion) it does not look real.

Those photos on Dave's Garden do look real, but to me nothing like the pick shown in the first post by hibiscushead13.
The comparison of the two really makes me think that first photo has been doctored up a lot.
Edited to add: not implying that the poster doctored the photo, but that it was probably taken from a site or mag. trying to sell the plant.

It does look like they saturated the color. It's not and uncommon practice use to sell plants.

I have 3 that are very similar to this one. All from HD over the years. They are the Hibis Kiss line & have a new one every year.
Blessed are the Quilters for they are the Piecemakers.

Around Mother's Day here I find them at HD. Not sure if they would be offered up north since they are tropical. I put mine in the shed over winter. Right now they are beginning to leaf out and should bloom in May.

Here is a Nursery selling them: http://www.jberrynursery.com/i...

The plant picture you posted of Fiery Furnace has be retouched to accent those colors. In the search box enter the hibiscus name and search.

That picture is correct. Surely it was taken with flash, late in the day and not with the best camera. That's the reason it can show blue tints. I know who took that picture. Here you can find out who was. He has a great hibiscus collection (https://www.facebook.com/group...). The link belong also to he IHS, it's its group in Facebook.
Fiery Furnace is a variable cv that can have many faces.
