Annuals Garden Photography Organic Gardener Garden Ideas: Level 2
This 'weed' is a volunteer and grows in unexpected places. I allow this to grow because of the beauty!! Which is this plant? Flowers [one visible] are unattractive but the seedheads are. Some of the leaves are seen. The plant can grow up to 20 inches I think.

Seeing the whole plant and open flowers will help.

Maybe Crepis capillaris, Hawk's Beard.

Looks similar to my American Burnweed (Erechtites hieraciifilia) that I kept growing because I was fascinated with the leaves, etc.

This looks like a member of the Aster family.
Among other characteristics, pay close attention to the phyllaries (the bracts under where the petals would have been) to help identify species in this family.

I might be totally off here, but staying in the same plant family, Senecio have similar flower / seed heads. A plant picture would certainly help.
