We took a field trip to ascertain wildflower activity in an area that in year's past in late March was a real hub for wilds - trillium, bluebells, trout lilies, claytonia, and the like. The area borders the South Fork of the Sangamon River.
Appears this area is just waking up, most were in the emergence stage.
Maybe there's hope for spring yet...
I never realized that Virginia waterleaf (your first pic) was so widespread. It's so prevalent in my "wilder" garden that I just let it be and enjoy the flowers.
