Hello everyone!

I am looking for some inga (ice cream bean) seeds for my boyfriend's birthday (April 23rd). I've checked all the usual tropical seed websites (TopTrop, Tradewinds, Tropilab, etc.) with no luck - it seems that they're all out of stock! Does anyone have any tips on where to find some? If not, there's always next year Smiling Thanks for any help, and hope you're all having an amazing day!

- Arielle

Perhaps your thinking of Inga feuillei.

It may be a bit early in the season to find seeds.

Hmm, Inga feuillei could be it.

It sounds extremely similar to inga edulis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I...). Do you know what the difference between them is (aside from "bean" appearance)? I would like to purchase whichever variety is the one they call "ice cream bean". It kind looks like both the feuillei and edulis have the nickname.

I think I just answered my own question. Edulis just means edible in latin. Still no seeds yet though Smiling

That's pretty exciting. Where did you come across your seeds?

Got a plant at a nursery, called Inga edulis, later figured it is Inga feuillei.

If the tree produces good seeds this year, I can make them available.

That would be awesome! TopTropicals had a whole 1 Gal tree for sale if anyone is interested, but for pick-up only (located outside of Ft. Myers FL). About $50.00
