Unbelievable! Awesome! Wow!

@Lestv Leslie, that is the same problem I had! I couldn't wrap my brain around it at first! And then I pictured accidentally running into it in the dark! Blinking Hilarious! I would have thought I was attacked by a land shark! Rolling on the floor laughing

I'm not quite sure how you managed it, but you made a thorny stem look beautiful! Nice job!

Usually I test myself, looking at the banner image for a few hours off and on hoping I will figure it out. What was immediately obvious is that there was no reference for this one in my feeble brain. I cheated and looked at the answer.

Question please; I see that Rosa sericea is in the ATP database, but is your pteracantha represented? If not, please consider adding this "land shark" to the ATP database. Thank You!

There are enough 'points' on that stem for everyone! Blinking Ouch. Where are my gauntlet gloves? Confused

Edited to add: It is images such as this one that make me wish for a "Banner of the Year" contest.

What an interesting banner! Funny how a photo without a single bloom on it can cause one to sit and stare in awe!

A banner of the year contest sounds like fun!

This rare rose, grown mostly for it's thorns, does produce flowers. Unique flowers with 4 petals instead of 5. Take a look. And oh! those thorns!

I am amazed by this Rose and am searching for more information.
Blinking Confused
Is the 'currently accepted' name
Rosa sericea ssp. omeiensis f. pteracantha?
Rosa sericea var. pteracantha?
or is it Rosa sericea pteracantha?
Shrug!

I like the idea of a banner of the year, too. Smiling
