Hi Roseinthegarden, Welcome! to All Things Plants!

You didn't mention what area of the country these plants are growing which might help with a more exact identity.

The plant in your first photo reminds me of Azalea Rhododendrons (Rhododendron)

Second one reminds me of a Spruce (Picea) http://garden.org/plants/brows...

I agree with porkpal, the fish appears to be of the African Cichlid variety, a popular fresh water aquarium fish because they are so colorful:

Welcome to All Things Plants, @Roseinthegarden !

I don't know very much about Belgium, I'm afraid -- but there are a lot of people that live in my part of the U.S. that are of Belgian heritage, so perhaps our climates are somewhat similar (just based on the fact that we also have a lot of Swedish and Finnish descendents here, it seems that these groups chose this area to live because it was somewhat "like home."). Smiling

I agree that the first plant looks very much like a rhododendron of some kind; the conifer in the second photo, from the needles, looks to me like a fir of some sort, perhaps Balsam Fir (Abies balsamea), which is native where I live. http://plants.usda.gov/factshe...

Are the fish in fresh or saltwater?

Welcome! Rosieinthegarden,
For the fish they may be the Metriaclima sp "msobo" African Cichlid. The fish start out as yellow; the males then develop various patterns. You might try calling the dentist's office to inquire. The receptionist may not know the answer but whoever tends the aquarium should know.

We have a salt water (marine) aquarium and now that I look closer at your photo, I wonder if the aquarium is perhaps a marine tank with salt water fish? If it is a salt water aquarium, the yellow fish might be Goby: http://www.bing.com/images/sea...

The fish with black spots reminds me of a Grouper: http://www.bing.com/images/sea... but Grouper get quite large and although many who have marine aquariums put Grouper in their tanks, the fish outgrow that habitat quickly!

For the Picea (they all look alike to my eyes Rolling on the floor laughing ) I don't have a guess. Maybe if you had a photo of the full tree so we could see the form/shape?

Welcome! Hello treasures.
Are you asking about ornamental purslane? I have never eaten purslane it but others have. I would be cautious about buying an ornamental as food only because it may have been sprayed or treated with something which is not meant to be consumed.
Can you upload a few photos? Thank You!

One of our All Things Plants members submitted an article about edible purslane:

Here's a link to the English Daisy as Arlene said above. Sure looks right to me. They come in red, other shades of pink, and white too.

I would say both fish are African cichlids the spotted I think is N. Livingstonii and the yellow are African zebras.
