Terra Nova is releasing this new Bleeding Heart this year called Dicentra 'White Gold' I haven't seen it for sale around here yet, but this one is at the top of my list of plants I want. I have the 'Gold Heart' with pink flowers, but the white flowers just work better with the foliage! Which new plants do you want?

Hellebore Penny's Pink, the early pink veining in the leaves makes this one different.

After seeing Clint's pic of the clematis Sapphire Indigo, I was totally smitten, and then I remembered why there is only one clematis here, the native Clematis crispa. When we moved to east Texas from the Ft. Worth, area, we brought along a beautiful Clematis integrifolia 'Durandi'. It did well on our big trellis for a couple of years, and then it was attacked--if that is the right word--by a leaf spot disease. I think my husband sprayed it with some fungicide, but it didn't save it. This disease is all around, I think. I know one year we had beautiful sunflowers, but then it got the "spots" and that was the end. Our zinnias also seem to get spots, especially as they get older. Anyway, does anyone else living in warmer climates have this type of problem with growing clematis? I would love to be able to grow these, but am afraid they will suffer the same fate. Well, at least I can enjoy all the beautiful clematis through the lovely photos posted here.

Clint, what an enabler you are Smiling Thanks for the link, I really enjoyed looking at all those clematis vines. I decided to show some brains and looked up diseases of clematis. It turns out our Clematis i. "Durandii" died from clematis wilt, and it is not exclusive to the south. So, I just may order a couple of plants and see what happens. I plan to go with the shorter ones and Sapphire Indigo looks like a winner to me. By the way, the Polish hybridizer whose name I will not attempt, also has a terrific looking honeysuckle I would like to get, but most sites I have visited either don't have it or is sold out. The name is Fragrant Cloud--I won't attempt the Polish name of this one either. Unfortunately, I haven't seen any sales on clematis I want, but I will have to order soon because the weather will be too hot to ship plants if I don't get busy.

Bob, you are also an enabler--you just enabled me to order Fragrant Cloud honeysuckle. Big Grin Thank You! Thank You! Now all I have to do is find the right place to plant it, but that will be fun to do, there are several possibilities where it should work just fine. I really like the idea that it is supposed to flower right down to the ground. Now, it's on the clematis , and the arduous task of selecting just two out of so many beauties--a tough job but somebody has to do it Hilarious!

I seen a lime colored bleeding heart at my local botanical park and I LOVED the bright hot pink/red flowers because they stood out against the foliage. I think the white blooms get lost against the lighter leaf color and don't 'pop'. This would be nice for a moon garden though, or somewhere you want the plant (foliage) itself but not the bright color. But personally I love the bright colors!

All right, order placed with Bluestone Perennials for Sapphire Indigo clematis. I am buying just one this time out, have what should be the perfect place for it, but must remember the cultural requirements for it to grow and flourish. Since our soil is generally sandy, we will have to redo that, and remember heavy mulch at the base to keep the roots cool in our hot summer temps. I can hardly wait to get these new plants, know they will be real assets for our property.

Clint, I love that dicentra! I have Gold Heart and it is one of my favorites. Love the clematis also.
I have a few things on my want list but they aren't really "new". I want more of a few things I already have or had and can't seem to find anywhere. Any and all suggestions are welcome.
Brownies heuchera
Pinot Bianco heuchera
Crackerjack phlox douglasii
Primrose sieboldii

Beyond that, I seem to want every perennial there is, so I don't need Clint to enable me because I already do it to myself. Can gardening become an illness?
