I am starting this thread because I do have seedlings, newly rooted cuttings, new buds that I watch like a hawk but I feel like they are not prime to be posted under Plumeria 2015. However, I do love them just as well if not more with the ones that are already in bloom. I am sure others have similar babies they'd like to share their pics.

So if you found this thread come post whatever, whenever, wherever and share your plumeria babies in different stages of growth. I have several No IDs too, which are equally worth sharing.

No reason to feel like anything that isn't 'prime' can't go in the main thread, Gigi, but if you're happier with this thread feel free! Thumbs up

Thanks Hetty, some of the ones I want to post will most likely not bloom this year so they look the same, plumeria with leaves. your blooms are gorgeous!

Here is one that I'm watching closely

Thai Mango Brush inflo:

A no ID bud, given to me as cuttings 2 years ago. It tried to bloom twice winter time and the buds blasted.

April cuttings from Trimark, looks like 2 or 3 inflos. Am giving this to my co worker's wife whose backyard is in full sun (nothing grows there he said). So am going to let his wife try growing plumerias. I under planted with Epidendrums:

This is a first time bloom for me Jungle Jack's California Sunset. DH accidentally pruned my 3 tip plumeria in Feb instead of lifting the entire planter to protect from frost. So now I have 3, momma plant is branching out nicely. I think this is compact.

I am going to start some seedlings. I tried once with seeds from ebay. I am already a bad seed-starting person. None of them worked. But I have my own fresh seeds from a cherished NOID plumie that I want to give a try. Because watching over plant rot, new rootings, anticipating inflo, and comebacks from winter is not enough. Worth the try Cheryl, look you will be watching your grandseedlings. How exciting is that? I'm watching my seedpods too and plant them as my grand seedlings.

California Sunset is classified as 'semi-compact' on JJ's website.

@Hetty. When you say "compact" are you referring to the tree as a whole? Or the blooms? Or the bouquet? I am going to Jungle Jerry's in June and interested in bringing home a shorter tree. Just want to know to look for a compact? Semi compact? Or Dwarf variety? And how those terms are used.

I would say 'Miniature' or 'Dwarf' are the smallest, then 'compact', then 'semi-compact', and in all cases it refers to the growth habit of the tree.

Who is Jungle Jerry??

If you look on Jungle Jack's website (http://www.junglejacksplumeria...) and go to his galleries, he will specify the growth habit for most of his varieties.

Some of the older varieties that you might consider are Dwarf Pink Singapore, a true dwarf, and Penang Peach, an excellent compact.

Hurray! my Thai mango blush/brush inflo is getting bigger. The picture on BBB's website where I bought this from is stunning! My plummie blooms usually come really close to what BBB shows on their website.
Thumb of 2015-06-05/GigiPlumeria/e04134

This was a late 2013 purchase as rooted cutting and will be first bloom for me.

Mango Brush (pictured) is the Thai version of Mango Blush; it is believed that a Mango Blush lookalike in Thailand was named Mango Brush. They are both lovely but somewhat different.

The picture on the BBB website is much deeper color, I think it does initially start light. Thanks for this pic Hetty, this would be an interesting comparison.

Interestingly, the mango blush picture of Robert B is similar to he one featured on the BBB website:

I will be happy with either color... Lovey dubby

Again, these are not the same cultivar, they are similar though.

I finally got a ripe seed pod from Dwarf Pink Singapore. The seedpod did not open all the way yet, it was a good thing I caught it before it split open. (I kept postponing to put netting or stocking on it.)

The seeds are tiny compared to the other plumeria seeds I germinated before. I counted 21 seeds that look like they may be viable so I planted them this afternoon in tiny black pots (for succulents).

Good job! Thumbs up You were right to plant them straight away, it appears to be the must-do for DPS seeds. Keep us posted on the progress!

Thank You! Hetty for the great tip. If you didn't give me a heads-up I would have procrastinated on it. The seeds got a good soaking from last night's rain and it is on the front porch where it gets part shade and part sun sitting on paver bricks for bottom heat.

I will be happy if I get at least one healthy seedling. Whistling Hopefully DPS got cross pollinated with the Divine and Muang Muang rat Whistling Whistling
