There's a lot of species in Oregon, is it likely to have set itself from the wild? It might be something else in the same family.

I agree, Penstemon. Somewhat reminds me of P. arenicola or P. nitidus, but I don't think either is quite right.

, which is not native to Oregon, but is so widely grown in cultivation it could show up almost anywhere.

Thanks Kent, I do remember trying to WS grow those. Must of lost the tag for it. I remember having a hard time getting any seeds to germinate.

Penstemons tend to have erratic germination. The seed can sit in the ground for years until something finally triggers it to sprout.
