A couple of years ago I used to pull this thinking it was a weed. And then I got behind on my weed pulling and it bloomed it has made a triffic come back but I have no idea what it is. I keep wanting to think it's a type of Salvia But I'm probably wrong. It is turning out to me one of my favorite perennials.

I'm afraid that's Campanula rapunculoides, pretty in bloom but an invasive thug in the garden.

I wish I had something that nice that's invasive. It's always ugly plants here. Lol.

Thanks for the help. I just did some reading on it. And does seem to be a bit invasive. I still can't decide if I want to keep it. I love it where it is at but I just planted a lot of hostas and Columbine's next to it

I must tell you I have been trying to get that out of my garden for 20 years and still keep having to dig it out It comes up through my groundcover junipers (and every other plant I have), under trees, basically everywhere. The more I dig out the more I get back again. I agree it is very pretty, but there is a strong chance you will regret keeping it. And don't try to dig it...the roots go down underground forever and a day. Roundup would be a better method. I can't do the Roundup in most places because of other things planted around it.

Extremely thuggish plant. And resistant to every type of removal I have tried, including desperation chemicals.

I just had a H. fulva bloom where I thought I had removed them all. Speaking of thugs. I quick dug it up and potted it, bloom is pretty but can't be having it crowd out my other daylilies!

So anyway, containers are great for thugs. Keep the pretty but don't let it outa jail.

Yeah, Kyla, I have ditch lilies too. They don't like to get lost either.

I've been thinking on it all day and I decided I'm going to give it 3-5 years. If it crowds out my Columbines or my hostas I will smother it in round up.

I agree this may not be a plant for everyone and may not 'fit' into a neat and orderly garden bed. This may be 'invasive' or a 'garden thug' to many or most people, but the plant is edible even though it is not commonly grown as a food plant now. If you are thinking about getting rid of these beautiful plants, before you start applying nasty chemical, please consider offering them to some local group who may be growing food plants.

I will do that. If I can find someone that wants it.but I think I will be keeping it .it has been there for 2 or 3 years now and hasn't spread much.I'm still going to keep an eye on it and if it shows up where it shouldn't it's a goner.

plantcollector - Roundup doesn't work on this stuff. I've tried several times. It will set it back for the season but it will return.

I hope I don't have use round up. I really like it where it is at.Just as long as it stays there. If not I'm sure tractor supply has some thing strong enough to kill it.

P.S I hate to use chemicals and I only use them if I have too.
