Don't pull them out. They do resemble Oenothera leaves. Please keep us posted. Thank You!

The first set of true leaves should look more like an adult cleomes, so I don't think that's what they are. Pictures can be misleading, though, but it should be clear very soon whether they are cleome or not. They ultimately have leaflets rather than simple leaves, even when quite small.

Well I guess we just need to wait and see. Wonder if I got the name wrong the first time for the mother plant?!

Somehow, that doesn't look right for Cleome. I don't grow it but something looks off. Anyone?

My first thought was like bamira's, possibly a Nicotiana.

The mother plant looks like cleome but the babies don't, at least at this point unless they somehow develop differently from the typical cleome sold as a bedding plant.

I found a teeny tiny cleome seedling this morning in a bed that had cleomes in it last year, so can post a couple of pictures to show what they look like - sorry for the picture quality, taken with my phone which doesn't do macros very well especially on things this small.

The first shows the seedling - the green thingy to the right is a fertilizer granule from last year (off to the side so not visible in the thumbnail) so that gives you an idea of the small size of the seedling and that it shows leaflets even at this early stage:

This shows the cleome seedling next to a recently planted cleome that is still only about ten inches tall itself:

No worries on the quality. The pictures still come up well enough to show what you wanted. Thumbs up
