I have the worst luck trying to use the Database....I'm either "to specific", or, I get about a thousand hits ! Technology is NOT my friend , it seems ! Anyway, I need (or rather ,my DAUGHTER needs Lovey dubby ) an iris to "co ordinate" in size, and bloom time to "Honorabile" (or ,at least what* most* call Honorabile Sticking tongue out ), that , in her words" is a" burgundy "self. Any Ideas ?......thanks!

Obviously, my daughter is into "garden planning" MUCH more than I am!! Shrug!

Does it need to be a historic too?

No, I don't think that matters to her. Since most of the MTB's are about the same "bloom size', and have about the same 'form" regardless of age, any "vintage" should do. The only one I can think of is Rayos Adentro, but I'd like to give her several choices.

Ozark Charmer seems like a nice one. I think I have a clump shot of if somewhere where it looks pretty impressive.

Moose Tracks obviously isn't a self, but it does have quite a bit of burgundy to it.

I'm looking for Elephant's Footprint. I had it, but it got crowded out and I sure liked that little guy.

I had that one ready to order from a vendor and they were hit by rot so bad that they are not selling any SDB's this year. They stated that they moved most of their dwarfs last year and rot took all new irises and a lot of the newly moved irises. I hope it survives and becomes available again. I will be checking in with them this summer to see. They had a overly dry winter.

It's bad enough when a private garden gets hit but a vendor? Must be devastating.
