Yes we all have them.
I am not fond of Pink and Yellow together and sometimes it happens when I miss calculate the bloom times.
So - - - OK The Tree Peony was bought after I planned and ordered the pink TBI row. My kids gave the Tree to me forMothers Day. I couldnt toss it, but hoped there wouldnt be clashes. I totally forgot they bloom at the same time.

Here it is. The yellow TreePeony and the row of pink iris.

Pink and yellow is still better than light peach and yellow. How about something in the wine family to break it up - maybe an early astilbe, or maybe salvia Caradonna?

Jo Ann, I think it's pretty, but I get it if you don't like pink and yellow. I agree with Arlene that Caradonna or similar might work. Or maybe go for color echoes and add some yellow iris?

Thanks both of you. I forgot about the Purple Sensation Alliums that are there.
I tried to diffuse the situation with the Centurea.

The Tree Peony has dropped its blooms so the rest of the season should be good.
I may consider some Intermediates yellow iris.

I think it looks nice, but it's impossible to make to make a beautiful blooming tree peony look bad, in my opinion! Mine didn't even get a bud on it this year.

This one is 6 years old. I want another one for a certain spot. DD says she will NOT give up her Rosa Rugosa that is half dead.Looks like I will need to find another spot.

Too bad about the Lychnis. I love the white ones with white lilies.

We have a rainy day here (hurray) and another one due tomorrow (double hurray) so I'll have time to look through photos, Jo Ann.

I wanted this clematis, Bourbon, and iris, Rip City, to be an ideal match. Once in a while it's "okay" but never ideal.

There is a yellow potentilla to the left, that has sprays of blooms, bringing more cohesiveness but I cut back the potentilla in early spring so it's not blooming on time.

I'm not fond of the pink/yellow combo either. Have seen too many commercial landscapes with 'Stella D'Oro' and landscape roses like 'Nearly Wild' combinations. Each is a nice plant on their own but I see waaaay too many 'Stella' plantings around here. I have made on exception here - Dicentra 'Gold Heart' - only because I like bleeding hearts and gold foliage but it can be rather jarring in spring with all of the other softer blooms.

Stella is WAY overused. I just don't "get" why having the first daylily bloom should be such a wonder. Even when I had 3,000 daylilies I didn't have and didn't want Stella.

Spirea 'Goldflame' is gold with pink flowers so it got moved to a different spot so the self-clash wouldn't interfere with other plants.

Wow - didn't know that 'Stella' is supposed to be the first to bloom. It is a pretty hardy plant and sometimes gets a little rebloom here. I believe it was developed here in NW IN.

I have a few Stellas that I inherited around my Rosy Glow barberry, which is not a bad combination, but I want to replace them with something else. I agree they are way overused. I always think of commercial landscapes when I see them.
I do rather like Goldflame though, in small doses.

At the time it was first introduced in 1975, it was touted as the earliest bloom and many reported three bloom times. Maybe now other daylilies are earlier. I no longer collect daylilies due to deer.

We inherited Stellas and I have one blooming now. What a bore. I dont know where it came from but it looks nice with the tall grey planter combo.
The rest of the propertry has beds of them. I agree with Jeanie. Looks like Medicaloffice building landscaping.
