What were/are your favorites? I have two more just opening - Reckless in Denim and I've Got a Secret - nearly all of mine are 1st year blooms. So I'll post my list tomorrow. It won't be easy!

Ten would be almost ALL mine. Lol But here goes...

My only luminata. My very favorite.

#2, War Chief

#3, Ambroisie. It's like the little black dress of the garden. Simple, elegant and goes with everything.

#4, Captain's Choice. It bloomed very short this year(its first)but next year will be better. I hope because I really like the color.

#5, I. germanica.

#6, any of the I. pallidas.

#7, Louisiana Black Gamecock. My only one. I do need more.

#8, Jurassic Park.

#9 is two. This deep purple and yellow. They compliment each other so well.

At #10 is Anvil of Darkness. Mine didn't bloom this year but one I gave to a neighbor did. This is blurry but accurate.



That's it. My top 10. Ask me again next year and you'll get a different answer.

I like Ambroisie a lot, Celia. Beautiful color. Must check it out in the Database!

We are still in the middle of bloom season in Maine. I put all my new iris pics in the same folder, so I can pic 10 when they are done.

Lori, you (and numerous others) have convinced me that one of my first forays back into the world of irises has to be Strawberry Shake! What a beauty!
