It is so encouraging! Worth the wait! I sure being up that far has its perks that make up for a short gardening season.

I don't know... No perks that I know of. I would much rather have a longer growing season. Oh, I can actually think of one... I can sleep at night without an air conditioner! It never gets that hot around here. Never much more than 30C, which is 86F I believe. And I'm the kind that can't take the heat; I like temperatures much lower than that... anywhere from 15 - 25C is much more comfortable to me. 15C is 59F.

I agree, Connie -- easier for me to put up with the cold winters than the southern summers! Of course, Reid, living in Minnesota, is no stranger to winter, either... I'm not too sure what would be better than living north of Minnesota or the Michigan UP, I think we're all kind of in the same boat (apparently an ice breaker Hilarious! )

Speaking of hot weather, today was one of those exceptional ones here. Temperature got up to 32C. Hot for us. We spent the afternoon sitting in lawn chairs under the trees with our feet in pots of cold water, and our favourite cold drinks in our hands! We don't have air conditioning in our house... Rarely would need it!

I probably shouldn't have... but I was pretty much assuming that it wasn't lemonade, Connie!

Fairbanks Alaska is rather like Minnesota. Bitterly cold winters and hot hot summers. Sometimes I miss it living here in the land of continually cloudy days (Anchorage, Alaska). But the thought of -50 or even -40 is more than I want to contemplate anymore. And they only have one store for clothes - Fred Meyers. The armpit of the universe. And I miss it. Arghhhhh
From -60 Alaska to +100 Virginia. Wahoo
