Sometimes the birds plant weed seeds too.

Hubby and I have been feeding the birds every day year round, since Dec. 2000. We have feeders and spread mixed seed on the ground that the wild cottontail rabbits eat too.

During spring through fall, we add two hummingbird feeders (front and back of the house) and I plant flowers in containers and the ground for hummers, butterflies and bees.

I don't grow that one, but perhaps someone else can help you.
