I am wandering what everyone does with the lilies they have to stake..... not all of mine need it but some sure could use it ............
I have both the bamboo rods and also some wire fencing that sits in front of them at the bottom to hold them
was told not to Stake Regale or the tops will break off..........so not doing that.........
but what does everyone use here.........
The trumpets are not open yet but can see where they are going to need it and they are planted deep deep........

at the other house years ago I had these green plastic sticks that had cool tie backs with that came with them to hold the lilies but not seen anything like that this year for these ones......

if they are planted deep enough they should not need to staked right....? that is what I heard but a lot of these have thinner stems and lots of flowers and sure they will get bigger thicker stems as they get older here and will not need to be staked then.......

I have a problem with my lilies leaning out to the sun because the gardens are backed up to the woods. I have to actually pull my lilies back and have devised a way to use only one stake for several lilies. I will try to get a picture if I can because it's too hard to explain!!

Trumpet lilies often need to be staked to to their heavy blooms, while not always the first year, but in subsequent years when the Lily reaches maturity. I often add a stake for trumpets at planting time. This way I am assured I won't hit the bulb later. Trumpet lilies show off a lot better when they aren't leaning. They even look happier.

With all this rain this year, I have lilies coming in places I didn't know there were any. It will be fun to see what they are going to be!!
