I love watching them dart all around my yard. They even seem to "play" with each other.

This morning I found some of their cats on my ornamental cabbage. I don't want to harm them because I enjoy them.

But am I being irresponsible if there are others in the area growing brassicas?

No. Not in my opinion.

And, aren't they butterflies?

I have tons because they have colonized all the kale I grew -- I am slowly removing some of the kale because it is way past edible and I want to plant other things where it is, but I leave some for them....

Move too fast for me, LOL! That catmint is right next to some of that kale....

I visited a butterfly garden recently... They had ornamental cabbage planted... Presumably for the white butterflies to raise their kids...

Here is a cabbage butterfly visiting a collard flower...
