Hello, I was just wondering about this, when I was deadheading my Stella de Oro. There are a lot of seed pods in early stage. But I'm not sure if it's self fertile or not. I'm tempted to let some pod grow.
I love this DL and the abundance of flowers!

Yes, either the bees pollinate it or it pollinates itself because of its very short pistil.

Thank you! Are all DL's self fertile?

In general, diploid daylilies tend to be more self-infertile (self-incompatible) but tetraploid daylilies may tend to be more self-fertile (self-compatible).

In the diploid daylilies, those that are related to Hemerocallis minor tend to be more often self-fertile.
