Hyacinths are not supposed to naturalize here. Mine can't read, so they don't know that.

Jasmine and bougainvillea, both of which would take over my yard if allowed. So would the cape honeysuckle, plumbago, burgundy irises, vinca, blackberries, pepper tree, wisteria...

Wow, If I take a photo of my bougainvillea and cape honeysuckle, you all will only see frost burned brown crispy stuff. Well, The cape honeysuckle is coming back. So were the lantana and cannas after I cut back their crispy brown stuff, but that 20+ degrees we had a couple mornings last week browned that stuff up too. The bottle brush, petunias and alyssum are blooming though. Will need to get photos.

Ledger's Variety Crested Iris.....

You'd think I would have noticed that tatty leaf blade before taking this pic...oh well.
I was in a nursery last year and saw this plant in flower and thought..."oh...that's pretty!" Then thought....Hmmm. I think I have one of these. Sure enough, after searching through stuff I found it. This was given to me by crystal 'spin a couple of years ago. If it's not in flower, you would tend to overlook it. Now it's over by the house so I can appreciate it.

How do you grow your Jerusalem sage? We had some and they didn't live very long. I don't know if we watered them too much or not enough.

Phlomis does not want much water at all. Mine have been in the ground quite a few years now and get very little water. I tried the pink phlomis years ago and lost it right away...this time I make sure that it (the pink one, Italian, I believe) doesn't get a lot of water and it's doing fine....can't wait for it to start flowering.
