I was one of the first 300 contributors to the plant database! Daylilies
I'm trying to figure out the branch count on this one, I've read the guidelines several times at the AHS site, I'm still unclear.

Any input is appreciated, TIA!

Good question! Is it a 3 or a 4? Do you count the main scape as one of the branches or not? I would be curious to know as well as I have come across this same dilemma. Confused

I'm a newbie to branch counting but I'd like to take a stab at it. Sticking tongue out

Looks like a zig-zag scape with 2 branches plus a terminal-V which equals a total of 4 branches.

Not much experience at branch counting either, and I am guessing four also.

I see five, If I read right, you count two for the far right branch, because there are multiple buds on both branches. Thats how I read the AHS description on bud counting, but I could very well be wrong.

Are you referring to the AHS Daylily Dictionary instructions for branching? It says there "A terminal V is counted as 2 branches and a terminal W is counted as 3 branches. A scape that does not divide into a V or a W at its terminus is counted as 1 branch."
