Good question! Is it a 3 or a 4? Do you count the main scape as one of the branches or not? I would be curious to know as well as I have come across this same dilemma.

I see five, If I read right, you count two for the far right branch, because there are multiple buds on both branches. Thats how I read the AHS description on bud counting, but I could very well be wrong.

Are you referring to the AHS Daylily Dictionary instructions for branching? It says there "A terminal V is counted as 2 branches and a terminal W is counted as 3 branches. A scape that does not divide into a V or a W at its terminus is counted as 1 branch."
