I used to feel the way you do, but I have decided it is a communications error on my part. People who ask questions like that are communicating a message I don't understand, and I think it is not just their fault but mine also for not understanding. I was watching a corny old Tarzan movie and the drums were sending a message, a native in the hut came out and said "they are sending a message for "some name" but I do not know the person". So I got curious and looked up what type of messages can be sent by drums...the constitution, the grocery list...help? Well, it appears almost every person in the tribe had a drum name and could recognize it when signaled. But the messages that were sent were very limited indeed, and were to me more of a code. It was very bizarre, it was more like a set phrases that had meaning attached that were not very obvious sometimes. So I think their questions have meaning but we are not familiar with the language. .reading the drums is a dying art, and maybe reading dumb questions is also.

Really? So when I asked the idiot I was on the phone w this morning why if my balance started at $1,900 and I have made 10 $50 payments, is my balance now $1,700? Not a stupid question, but her reply? Well, the payments are posted on your payment history. I said Yes but they are not reflected in the new balance? Well you have made all your payments on time. So what! Where are they? Well they are posted on your payment history.

Shoot me NOW!

So at the beginning of this phone call (reason I called) I asked if there was a LOCAL office I could bring my papers to and have a person look at this account. No she said they do all their billing and payments over the phone and she is not even in MO.

SO at the ending of the call, just when I was thinking how satisfying it would be to reach over the phone and choke this moron, she says, well you can go to the finance office in Springfield and they can help you with this. Its on the first floor of Cox North and here's their phone number.

Really?! A LIAR to boot! Grumbling

So are there stupid questions, oh, yes. I've heard lots of those.
But the real problem is that people who are supposed to run things, fix things and manage things-are COMPLETE idiots. I to goodness cannot comprehend how this woman has a job and I surely hope no one gave her a drivers license. She wouldn't know red from green. Blinking

Thank You! Thank you for listening (or rather reading) my RANT for the day!

Frilly, she was answering the questions not asking them!
Local office ? she thought with that question you meant "local" to her.You said she was not in MO.
See...its all in communications.
Now there are also stupid answers to good questions!
You know I am just joking with you, I know exactly what you are talking about and how you feel. I think as I get older something is changing so I notice this stuff more and more . It seems to happen every time I try to get something done, is it just my attitude...why is it? I don't recall having all these problems when I was younger.

No, no, I asked her if there was an office that 'I' could go to and she knew I was in MO when I asked her that, she had already confirmed my address and call back number. Funny though when you call this place it has a local area code but I found it is re-routed to another state, so you are led to believe it is local when it isn't. How weird is that? You know I got a call one day from..... myself?! my own number came up on ID. The whole world has gone mad I tell you.

well back in my day.... when I was younger, you had an issue you simply went to the place and spoke to a live person and your problem was fixed. Customer service. Now it is all about the 'system' which is ? What? Confused I don't know, but it's never wrong and the customer always is.

Stupid question of the day... MoOoOoOM! do I have to do my math today?

well yes duh, just like yesterday and the day before and tomorrow... and the next day ... nodding
