Red Currants grew in our garden from the time of my childhood. My mother cooked them for jams, but I loved to simply pick them and eat them fresh.

I visited a friend in the spring of 2014, who simply snipped off some 6-8" twigs and stuck them in gallon pots of a compost mix. She gave me black, red, white, and ornamental. I kept them potted up for all of last season, half buried in an old sandbox so I could water and baby them easily. All of them are growing nicely, two got berries this year, and all are ready to be direct planted this fall. How easy was that?
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.
