Hi there,

I am new to this group as a member, but have been lurking here for a short while and actually found the name of a mislabeled Lowes Daylily plant through one of the threads. Lovey dubby

I live in CT and have been unofficially collecting daylilies for about 10 years now. I have two sun gardens (soon to be three) that support my daylily collection plus all of my other perennials. Before my recent decision to add a third garden, I probably had a about 40 different varieties. But after discovering a few great nurseries and visiting several here in my area, I have probably added another 20 varieties to my collection!!

My new garden is going to be call "All in the family". Group hug It will feature daylilies that either have a family member's name or a name that has a significant meaning.
So far I have collected
Daring DilEMMA
Lady Elizabeth
Miss AMELIA
GRACE & Grandeur

and have several more on my wish lists, including
Cynthia Louise Valente
Prestor JOHN
Scouts Honor
Heidi Hugs
Heidi Hi
Small World CHRISTOPHER
DANIEL Mann
Patricia

Anyways I want post a picture of a flower that I am not sure of. I want to think that it is Fooled Me, but not 100% sure. It is about 24-30 inches tall and is blooming now. This picture was taken on a bright day, it is actually a deeper gold and the edges match the deep orange.

I could not see the edge, so I am glad you mentioned it. That was the first daylily that came to mind when I saw the photo.

Welcome! Heidi!

I think you were right about the ID of your daylily since several here have confirmed what you suspected.

I love your idea for an "All in the Family" garden! I hope you will share some photos of your different garden beds! I love seeing how others use daylilies in their yards! Glad you joined us here on the ATP Daylily Forum! Thumbs up

Welcome! There are a number of daylilies that look similar to 'Fooled Me' - not saying that isn't it but just that there may be another possibility (unless you remember acquiring 'Fooled Me' at sometime and are just missing a label or something).

One is 'Blackberry Sherbert' (which can show a red edge or partial one)

another is 'Tigerling'

:welcome:Heidi. So happy you have joined us. Smiling I think Fooled me is the most likely ., but you could call it " looks like fooled me" until you are absolutely sure. That's what I do. Smiling another idea is to buy fooled me, then compare them. If I had this one I'd send you a couple fans so you could compare.

Thank You! Thank you all for the welcomes!

I just ordered Tigerling the other day, so I will eventually be able to compare. I am hoping that this fall when I start cleaning out the gardens that I might find some of my tags. Of course as I have learned, the tags aren't always correct. It is a very pretty flower though, whatever it might be.

This is my current front garden, it is soon to be debrided of all of the lazy susans!

And this is the garden that I call that stone garden. It runs along the front of our property and I think that my neighbors get to enjoy it much more than I do, since they see it as they drive by.

Welcome! Heidi. You will love it here. I have Fooled Me also but its done blooming for me. It would be a safe bet to say yours is indeed Fooled Me. If its store bought in our area they tend to be old and common cultivars such as Night Beacon,Strutters Ball,Mardi Gras Parade, Buttered Popcorn, etc.
A few years back i found Mildred Mitchell at Home Depot and now its one of my favorites.
