I think Bob named just about everything in my shade garden, lol. And Rose got the hostas.
But, here's the *other* 5...
1. Aquilegia - Columbine
2. Pulmonaria - I can't believe how tough that plant is.
3. Trilliums - from a reputable nursery, not dug from the wild, of course. But the whites have the prettiest flower and the yellow has the prettiest leaves.
4. Hydrangea - do shrubs count?
5. Astilbe - if you have a damp-ish spot, they do like their water.
Is this a list for you, Trish, or in general? Another one with both flowers and beautiful leaves are the Cyclamens - the C. hederfolium tops out in 9b, so I would guess it would be fine in your area.
