I received a tiny sprig of this sedum and would like to order more, but I don't know what to look for. It came to be as an unknown. Thanks.

The little plant at the bottom could be S. rubrotinctum:

It looks like it could be baby Sunrose.

Thanks for the information. Do you happen to know a botanical name for Sunrose? Maybe it's an ice plant? I'll look into that.

I finally discovered what this is. A seller on eBay came up with it and is sending me more of it. This is Sedum Variegata makinoi. I know that doesn't look like a normal botanical name, but that is the closest I've been able to come to it. Apparently it is a Japanese plant and is hardy to zone 5. It grows in mounds and is lovely trailing over the side of walls and pots.

That does look like it may be correct, not a plant I've seen in person.

The name given is just out of order, and w/o punctuation:
Sedum makinoi 'Variegata'
Japanese Woodland Stonecrop (Sedum makinoi 'Variegatum')

Thank you, Tiffany. I appreciate the extra information on this plant. I admit that I didn't realize that '"sedum" was a genus. I thought it was like "succulent" except that the plants seemed to be mostly small creepers. I learned something today that I needed to know. I love to organize and keep the name of all my succulents. And thanks for the link.

Happy to share. I was curious with you, sure is cute!

So is the plant Heath suggested. Very similar but the leaf edges are different and, no way of knowing from your pic, but would have diff flowers too. Are you familiar with it? Sorry to Heath and you, I meant to include this link before. Hopefully this is what Heath meant too:
Baby Sunrose (Mesembryanthemum cordifolium 'Variegata')

I'd be curious to know what the flowers look like, if it flowers. I'm not a sedum expert, I just know that when my sedum kamschaticum pop up in the spring, I get so giddy with excitement because they are the first bits of green each year here and they look adorable when they first come through as little spirals. Sedum is definitely fun to have (although ours wants to grow everywhere in our yard now...so it might be less fun in the future if it becomes invasive).

I hope you get a firm ID on your plant!

Thanks for all the response to my question. This sedum does look a lot like Sunrose. When it blooms I'll post a picture of it. Meanwhile, I ordered a small pot of this sedum from the same person who told me the name, and I potted it up with some Mondo grass. I see that it has red stems, which I didn't know from the little piece I received originally. I'll post the pic here.
