Today's Plumeria of the Day is Plumeria (Plumeria rubra 'Miami Rose') .

Please join in, if you own this plant, especially if you're not in Florida where it grows everywhere! We would love to know more about growth in your specific area!

Also, please consider adding a "Local Report" to the ATP Plant Database! Thank you!

I really think I have a Miami rose but not sure.

I have 2 kinds of pInk. One does not open all the way, the other kind opens beautiful huge pink blooms.

This is what the first one look like, the blooms are 3 to 4. Inches size. I have 2 that are 9 feet tall, they did not bloom this year because I made a severe trim last Feb. I think you identified this as possibly a Miami Rose and I keep forgetting to smell the blooms if it smells like a suntan lotion:

Then I have this one, the bloom last really long and it is still blooming now. (Bummer, I looked and the seedpod came off.) This one my hubby and I swear smells like suntan lotion (or wishful thinking), the color is darker and it doesn't open up all the way.

Do you have a close up picture of a single bloom?

I'm intrigued with your first one. Miami Rose never reflexes for me the way that one does.
The inflorescence shape and color is quite distinctive so you may want to compare those.

Here is a picture of the bloom face-on.

Yes..it is similar but not quite the same..and the petals are more rounded. It forms a really beautiful huge boquet. Here is the bloom that made it to my Christmas card in 2012. I have 2 huge trees of these and 2 rooted 2-tip cuttings.

I feel like I might have the Miami Rose, also I am in FL.

This was gifted to me. But the flower size & color with yellow center seem to be right. It's not deep enough red to be Scott Pratt

I would say this is not Miami Rose. Is this perhaps "Plastic Pink" plumeria?
