As a comment about Louisiana Iris (Iris 'Sinfonietta'), eclayne wrote:

Planted in spring 2011. As we had a very mild winter, with lows dipping to 0F or just below on only two nights, I'm unsure of it's hardiness here. Has a nice upright vase shaped form and is very vigorous.

Has this one survived in zone 6a?

It survived for 3 years with increase then nothing. I don't know if it was cold or poor culture which killed it. I've since noticed that LA rhizomes tend to "rise to the surface" and expose themselves.

Some are supposed to do better in the north than others. Reading through the zone ratings is tedious.

They've grown Sinfonietta at the Iris Friendship Garden at Highland Park in Rochester, NY.

Cool. I have a lot of iris and would like to extend the season, mix them with repeaters and rebloomers, etc.
